The journey behind every bottle of Fósforo Mezcal begins a slow 90-minute drive outside of the city of Puebla, MX.
The bottles of Fósforo we make today are the product of hand-picked agaves that have matured for between 8-15 years under the watchful eye of our Master mezcalero, Aarón Alva Sánchez.
The Fósforo brand starts with Jim Cramer’s passion for the mezcal category. Over the past 15 years, Jim has tasted over 200 mezcals and is a true mezcal connoisseur.
Lisa Detwiler – Jim’s wife – took Jim’s passion and developed a stunning package and brand platform that mirrors the quality of the liquid inside the bottle.

Joven and crystal clear, our core Tobalá-based mezcal showcases a nose of ripe fruit, bell pepper, honey, wet stone and smoldering campfire.
The palate is lively, balanced and complex with rounded notes of cooked Tobalá agave, caramelized pineapple and fresh herbs, giving way to a subtle smoky-smooth finish and a full mouth feel.
Brilliant amber in color, the nose unveils layers of complexity – Leading with young leather, caramel and spices, the complex aroma profile shows hints of white flower and lemongrass.
On the palate, this unique expression showcases an explosion of floral notes,followed by toasted nuts and mellow smoky undertones.
This Tobalá Penca expression leaves a wonderful lingering, full-mouth feel.
