For over 250 years, Jose Cuervo has been making tequila from the largest agave holdings in the world, capturing tradition in every bottle.

In 1795, Jose Maria Guadalupe de Cuervo received the first official charter from the King of Spain to produce tequila commercially, then called “Vino Mezcal de Tequila”. Centuries later, Jose Cuervo was used to make the very first Margarita in a bartender’s attempt to impress, who we all can consider, a very lucky lady.

Jimadores, or “caretakers”, allow the agave stalks to mature for seven years in the rich, volcanic soil of Mexico’s tequila region before the hearts of the agaves (“las pinas”) are sent to La Rojena distillery. The entire cooking process is carried out in the artisanal tradition, as it has since the beginning. Jose Cuervo is the best-selling tequila in the world, and they’ve been doing it for longer than anybody.
